Kalkulator proračuna časa za otroke

Parenting in the digital age is a wild ride. We've all had those days where we hand over a tablet as a 'digital babysitter' just so we can cook dinner or take a quiet phone call, only to feel a wave of parent guilt later on. This calculator is your friendly, judgment-free tool to see how your child's daily screen habits compare to the official guidelines set by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). It isn't about making you feel bad; it's simply about giving you a clear, honest starting point so you can find a healthy media balance that works for your unique household. Think of screen time like a daily budget, similar to how you might manage your grocery money or track your daily calories. Some days you might go a little over budget, and that is completely fine! However, having a concrete number helps you spot sneaky patterns before they become hard habits. The pediatric guidelines suggest zero screen time (except for video chats with family) for babies under 18 to 24 months, a strict one-hour limit for preschoolers (ages 2 to 5), two hours for school-aged kids, and up to three hours for teens. Our calculator takes your child's age, looks up these baseline numbers, and shows you exactly how your current routine matches up. But here is the secret: not all screen time is created equal. Watching an interactive, educational show together and talking about it is a world away from mindlessly scrolling through short, autoplaying videos. This tool helps you draw a clear line between active learning and passive zoning out. By getting a clear, data-driven picture of your child's screen budget, you can make intentional choices—like swapping an hour of tablet play for a family bike ride or a board game—without the daily power struggles.

• !Treating all screens the same: Watching an interactive family movie together is vastly different from letting a toddler scroll autoplay videos alone.
• !Going cold turkey: Cutting off all screens overnight usually backfires. It is much better to trim down the time gradually, 15 minutes at a time.
• !Ignoring our own screen habits: Kids learn by watching us. If we are constantly scrolling at the dinner table, they will want to do the same.
• !Counting schoolwork as leisure time: Forcing kids to cut out fun video games because they had to do online homework can feel unfair and breed resentment.
