How to Calculate Print D P I

What is Print D P I?

A print DPI (dots per inch) calculator determines the required image resolution for a given print size to achieve acceptable print quality. For photographic prints, 300 DPI is standard; for large-format posters viewed from a distance, 150 DPI may suffice. A 4×6 inch print at 300 DPI needs a 1,200×1,800 pixel image.
